成人的構音障礙需要和成長過程的溝通經驗同時處理

我是巫建德，是蔡明伶老師指導過的學生。在蔡老師的盡心盡力教導及訓練下，幼兒時期就有的 構音障礙一掃而空，其所引發的心理障礙也漸漸消散，所以，我很樂意為蔡老師的語言治療的專 業能力和教育熱誠做見證。

My name is Kent, Chien Te, Wu who used to be a student of Ms. Ming Ling Tsay. As a result of Ms. Tsay’s enthusiastic teaching and training, my issue with articulation since childhood had been resolved; as well, the psychological burden that resulted from my problem diminished gradually. Hence, it is my pleasure to be a testimonial for Ms. Tsay who is a professional in speech language therapy and has a great passion for education.

茲將個人經歷作簡單介紹： Here is my personal background and experiences.

出生於台北市父母都是藥劑師的家庭，幼兒時語言發展明顯遲緩，小一歲的弟弟都已口齒伶俐 了，我甚至還不曾開口發聲。開始說話後，發音出現了明顯的構音障礙，父母也曾多次帶我到醫 院尋求協助，但無任何進展。

I was born in Taipei and both my parents are pharmacists. I was considered to be a child who was delayed in language development. Compared to my brother, who is one year younger than me, was gifted with a ready tongue, and yet I was not even able to say a word. After I started to talk, my articulation was obviously problematic. My parents took me to hospitals to seek help, yet with no progress.

在學業方面，順利地取得台灣大學工程學士，日本東京大學工程碩士，但構音的問題並沒有自然 地改善，這一直是心中的陰影。

Academically, I graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Taiwan and a Master of Engineering from the University of Tokyo in Japan. However, my articulation issue did not improve as time went by and it shadowed my life.

幸運的是，留學日本後，移民加拿大哈利法克斯，2001年夏天，同是台灣移民的蔡老師聽說了 我有明顯的發音障礙，主動詢問是否需要協助，從此，我開始發音矯正課程，人生也多了一分光 明。

Fortunately, after finishing my studies in Japan, I immigrated to Halifax, Canada. In the summer of 2001, Ms. Tsay, who is also from Taiwan, was told of my big problem by two other Taiwanese immigrants. She contacted me and asked if I needed help. It was the start of my articulation training and some hope lighted up my life.

在初次課程中，蔡老師就正確地判斷出構音障礙的細節，也是有生以來，第一次正確唸出自己的 名字，因為名字中的「建」字就是我的困難音之一。

In the initial treatment session, Ms. Tsay was able to precisely assess my articulation problem in detail. It was also the first time ever that I could accurately pronounce my name. The Chinese word “建Chien “, in the middle of my name, is one of the challenging sounds in my articulation issue.

那實在是美好的一天！ It was really an AMAZING day!

後續幾次課程中，那些困難的音漸漸地被克服，似乎從此就一帆風順了，但蔡老師卻很有遠見地 告訴我：「真的挑戰還在後面喔！」

In the following treatment sessions, those challenging sounds were overcome, and it seemed that everything would go right from then on. Yet Ms. Tsay expressed a comment with her insight:” the real challenge is coming!”

果然，30年的錯誤習慣，加上所引發的焦慮，在日常情境中的會話，還是會回去舊有構音的錯誤 模式。

Indeed, the pattern of bad habits in my speaking (for 30 years), as well as the anxiety that persisted still bothered my daily conversations. I often reverted to my original articulation disorder.

為了克服這難題，蔡老師先觀察記錄我與華語朋友及英語朋友的自然交談，課程中再提出相對應 的矯正策略。終於在半年後，越過最困難的關卡，日常生活中的發音全都是正確的。

To deal with this tough problem, Ms. Tsay observed my conversations with friends in English and Mandarin Chinese. Then she guided me privately with useful coping strategies. A half year later, I finally defeated the most difficult barrier and my words could be accurately pronounced in my daily life.

就像奇跡一般，我的英語、日語、閩南語發音也自然同步地矯正成功，身邊的人都感受到我明顯 的進步，我的洋人事業合夥人Gary 想起孫子Levi 也已4歲了還不曾開口發聲，連絡上蔡老師 後，那問題也很快地被解決。

Miraculously, all the wrong articulation patterns within all the four languages that I speak, Mandarin Chinese, English, Japanese, and Taiwanese, were corrected simultaneously. People who I knew could hear the improvement. It caught the attention of Gary, my Canadian business partner whose 4 year old grandson, Levi, could still not say a word. With the help from Ms. Tsay, Levi’s language issue was resolved in a short period of time.

幾年之後我離開了加拿大，目前和日本妻子住在日本鹿兒島。每當想起二十幾年前構音矯正的過 程，心中就充滿喜悅。非常感謝蔡老師對我人生正向的改變，她實在是是一位可遇不可求的奇 才，我很願意推薦她，深信她在相關專業領域及仁慈慷慨的性格必能為有需要的人貢獻一份心 力。

A few years later, I left Canada and currently live in Kagoshima Japan with my Japanese wife. When I think back on my articulation treatment near 2 decades ago, my heart is full of joy. I really thank Ms. Tsay for the positive change in my life. She is an amazing, talented and unexpected genius in her professional fields. I would like to recommend her, and I am confident that her professional competence and generous personality could truly benefit people who are in need.
